NFL Draft: EA Sports Madden gives real-time look at rookies in new jerseys on Twitter
The 2017 NFL Draft got underway on Thursday with a lot of surprises taking places with trades and a lot of players taken higher than expected. Along with all the moves and players going up and down, fans of the EA Sports Madden NFL franchise were treated to sneak peeks of the rookies selected.
Throughout the NFL Draft on Thursday, the EA Sports Madden NFL Twitter account tweeted out sneak peeks of this year’s rookie class in their new gear. From the first five players in Myles Garrett (Cleveland Browns), Mitchell Trubisky (Chicago Bears), Solomon Thomas (San Francisco 49ers), Leanard Fournette (Jacksonville Jaguars), and Corey Davis (Tennessee Titans) to rounding out the top-10 with Jamal Adams (New York Jets), Mike Williams (Los Angeles Chargers), Christian McCaffrey (Carolina Panthers), John Ross (Cincinnati Bengals), and Patrick Mahomes (Kansas City Chiefs).
Along with showing what these rookies will look like in their NFL jerseys, fans of Madden were given the ability to predict the ratings for each player in real-time on their site over at EASports.com.
Once the submit button is hit, an instant graph is made with a comparison to the community average. Users could also compare the rating to current NFL players at the position like Deshaun Watson (Houston Texans) comparison to Tom Brady and Dak Prescott.
As for Madden 18, the cover athlete has yet to be named nor has a release date been set.
Last year, Madden 17 was released on August 23, and a similar date could be on the horizon for this year’s edition of the popular video game franchise. The last four years the game has been released within between Aug. 23 and Aug. 27 with the release date getting earlier and earlier each year.
